Government hoped to receive from the sale of state property in the current year, 4.3 billion dollars (at the rate of 2.8 zlotys per U.S. $) and thereby, reduce the widening state budget deficit.
"There is no chance that privatization has brought this year's 12 billion zlotys, as suggested by the budget", - said the Minister.
According to Polish media, to date the Ministry has received from the sale of state property 1.5 billion and planned to carry out an annual plan from the privatization of energy company Enea, for which wishes to receive from 7 to 9 billion zlotys.
However, the main contender for the purchase of the company - German RWE - abandoned this investment.
The following year the Polish government plans to get from the privatization of 8,9 billion dollars (at current rates), and hopes thereby to avoid raising taxes in the country to offset the budget deficit.
