Magna plans to dismiss 2,5 times more staff Opel, earlier than planned

Number of staff concern Opel, facing dismissal after his sale of the company Magna and Sberbank of Russia, is growing every day. European enterprises automaker may remain without work for more than 10 thousand persons, informs Deutsche Welle.

The Austrian-Canadian company Magna plans to cut the plants Opel automobile concern in Europe, 10,5 thousand jobs, of which about 4,5 thousand in Germany. Previously called that figure - 4,1 thousand employees German Opel.

Chairman germanskogo metalworkers union, Berthold Huber, demanded that the future owner of Opel to deliver on earlier promises. First of all, it concerns the preservation of jobs and factories automobile concern.

In addition, the union leader turned to the GM with the requirement not to create obstacles of Opel after its sale. According to the plans of American concern, since gaining independence Opel should not compete in the markets of USA, Canada, South Korea and China.
